Sales Page
Please read our Sales Policy below before purchasing a goat from us. If you are purchasing a goat, Saddlebag Farm will assume you have read our Sales Policy and agree to the terms.
Reservations are FREE until kids hit the ground. After that we require a half down deposit to hold kid until weaned at 8wks of age. If by 10 weeks of age, the kid is still here, we will start charging boarding fees of $2per day.
All expenses, including CVI's, must be paid in full before the animal leaves our farm.
If the animal is an adult, you have 2 weeks to pick it up or arrange transportation. Half down to hold an adult animal, the rest is due at pick up.
Transportation must be arranged at that time. Transportation is available through Amy Sporna with 5 Star Transport.
We offer Rebates to performance homes that help a goat with our herd name earn their milk star, a GCH, or their first Linear Appraisal score. Please contact us for more info. Please wait until their accomplishment can be verified through ADGA/AGS or on CDCB.
We dam raise our all of our goats and prefer not to bottle feed unless necessary, i.e. milk test days or if a mama becomes ill or rejects her kids. We feel it is the best way for kids to learn herd dynamics, become good mamas themselves, and honestly, we love seeing the family bonds that develop.
Kids are weaned at 8-10 weeks. Any kids sold will be disbudded, tatooed, and given a Cocci preventative before they leave. Buyer will be given their ADGA/AGS registration application upon pick up.
Intact registered bucks will be DNA'd before leaving.
We strive to sell animals that are healthy at the time of transfer. A purchaser has the right to a full Veterinary examination at his/her expense on any animals to be purchased before they leave here.
Once an animal leaves our farm, we make no guarantees of health as the animal is out of our hands and their further care beyond our control. The risk of loss transfers to new owners once the animal leaves our farm.
We try and test all our does at least once a year for CAE. We don't test for Johnes or CL on a regular basis because we consider the tests to be too unreliable to be worth the hassle and expense. We would, of course, test anything suspicious such as abcesses if that ever came up. We are willing to test at the buyer's expense, if it is requested and the animal is paid in full.
